So works to point says installing and never finishes.   Tried both 32 bit and 64 bit on an ASUS T100.   Using latest 3.0.

So also tried on an HP 64Bit Pavillion g6.   Installed using INSTALL=2 like says above.   It did the install correctly and then said installation complete.  Started up the boot and it said no bootable device, insert boot disk and press any key.    Looked at the partitions, 1 FAT32 boot efi, one 1GB system  and 1 larger data partition.   Any ideas?

im having a hard time to understand this...

1st i need a pc that have a uefi bios.. i have a 2in1 pc with docking board

unfortunately i accidentally remove everything even the original w8 sigh..

then i need a usb? should i install the 64bit version to the usb itself then boot from it?

im hoping there is a 32 bit uefi since my 2in1 pc is a bit weaker.. 2g ram/ 32gb mmc atom pc

Remix OS for PC on Marshmallow is a great operating system.

Many people will want to install it as the primary or only OS on their PC.

It would be great if we could have a download version that incorporated the appropriate code for native installation as a selectable option.

I can only agree with Stojon.

It seems like the interest for getting Remix to work in a PC environment is very limited at Jide. Nö efforts to solve the installation problem that has existed for a long time seems to be done and nobody at Jide seems to take notice of this forum.

First, excuse me for my english ;-)

This is the way i've procceed:

    > Prepare a USB flash drive with Remix OS installed & Boot from USB flash drive

    > Choose ‘Resident mode’, press ‘e’

    > Delete ‘USB_PARTITION=1’ in the command line

    > add ‘INSTALL=1’

    > Press ‘F10’ to boot

    > The installation will take place automatically.

I've changed the value of install by 1, then i can use the grub menu to choose on wich partition i want install Remix OS.

But when I restart my device, i'm unable to boot on Remix OS, maybe i've done something wrong wth the grub menu ??

I think it's a way to explore. Keep inform if i find any solutions.

I have been trying to get Remix OS installed single boot on PC with Legacy BIOS boot and I have been unsuccessful.  I have tried everything I can think and am nearly at wits end.  Help!  Does anyone have any ideas on how to get this to work?  I have gotten it to run Remix from the hard drive at the end of install but once I remove the USB I installed from and reboot I just get a blinking cursor on a blank screen because it cannot boot from the hard drive.  Any ideas are welcome.

    Thanks,

John - welcome to the growing club of VERY frustrated REMIX OS fans who want a robust out-of-the-box single boot solution for REMIX OS.

BIG MEMO TO JIDE - a whole bunch of us out here really like Remix OS and want to use it in single boot systems.

Can we at least have some feedback from Jide on what your plans are with regard to a fully implemented single boot version (ie with a native installer).

If you don't plan to do this anytime soon you should at least let us know.

Until a full single boot solution is available I won't be recommending REMIX OS to others.

I'm already making donations, but would be happy to pay reasonable $$ for a single boot system.

I think I have been pretty close using INSTALL=1 It seems to complete the install successfully and at the end if I choose run android_x86 it will run remix is from the hard drive but when I reboot it just sits at blinking cursor upper left of blank screen. I think that it doesn't recognize the boot partition.

    Thanks,

    John

    John,

Awesome.   Think issue is you need two partitions.   A small one 100MB or so and the rest on second partition.   Boot with USB install=1 and do install on the second partition,  If legacy then choose install grub, first try don`t install EFI, then finish.   Then do a reboot and see if works.   If not try same but do install EFI and format as well.    Try that and see how that works.

    Let me know.

    V/R,

    Gary

jide!!!! you should set up an online store where people can buy internal hhd's with a single boot remix partition. as install dont work.    im not donating im abandoning this os... i'll stick with my linux mint setup.
